On the Bank of the Tagus River…
… Is the gateway to Lisbon.
Recently I received a call from an Asian friend, who also happens to be a former colleague. He was embarking on a maiden trip to Lisbon, and wanted me to help him formulate a list of things to do.
I’ve been to Portugal’s capital city so many times that I have got bored with it. In fact, these days when I plan a trip to the Iberian nation, I prefer to skip the capital altogether.
Having said that, even though a typically touristy exercise, it was nonetheless my friend’s first trip to Lisbon. As such, I wanted to help him in every way I could, hoping to contribute as much information as was possible. In any case, his list of questions was palpably a long one.
Lisbon has a lot of options
Frankly speaking, Portugal’s capital has quite a few iconic monuments and tourist attractions. On the contrary, a lot of options mean someone who is visiting the city for the first time would struggle to make decisions.
It was a matter of time before his itinerary became increasingly elaborate.
