Stop Dating Casually Before You Quit Dating Cold Turkey
Revisiting my most successful article.
My article, “Women Are Quitting Dating Because Of Situationships,” is probably my most successful article I’ve ever written. I think it’s super timely, and a lot of people seemed to have strong opinions about it. In case you missed it, I highly encourage you to read it before you move on with this piece.
The long and the short of it is:
I’m vehemently against situationships.
No one benefits from them. I don’t believe people are good enough communicators to participate in them without someone getting ridiculously hurt or walking away with some sort of trauma. I don’t think they should go on and on for years. Situationships or casual relationships — if you must participate in them — should really only go on for a few months. Additionally, too many people go along with casual, claiming they don’t want a relationship, only to find out that they want to be treated like a boyfriend or girlfriend.
Don’t even get me started with what happens when a woman finds out that the dude she’s casual with, is in fact sleeping with another person. They get upset or try to downplay his relations with the other woman. In the worst case scenario, she ends up posting him on, “Are We…
