I Wanna Get Back To Writing

A hodgepodge of where I’m at right now.

I’ve been MIA. Wishy-washy. I’ve been unsure about how to continue this blog. Back in 2021, articles really flowed out of me. I was able to keep up with the dating commentary for a long time. I was giving regular updates to my life. Whether that be going on dates, or a play by play on my healing journey.

I haven’t been writing as much for a few reasons. It feels weird to write about my current relationship in real time. Honestly, there’s not much to write about because I’m genuinely happy. We live together now. We’re engaged and are planning an engagement party in the fall.

Most days I’m stressed about work, but our life together is effortless.

I have thoughts on how my friendships have shifted in this season. I want to write about this massive pivot — I’m no longer the single friend, I’m the engaged friend. It wasn’t long ago that I denounced casual dating in it’s entirety. I didn’t want to entertain anyone who was still in that phase of their life, because I was certain I’d never revisit the casual loop.

I realized I’d been a relationship person all along. I was simply hoping to fall in love, while the modern dating space did me dirty for so many years.
