Changing Your Perspective

Yesterday I published a story in the Weeds & Wildflowers publication. The prompt for January is Perspective. There are many ways to interpret perspective, but it’s one of the most important parts of the images I create as a photographer.

commented and my reply to him was: “I am quite sure I could populate a hundred stories with perspective images (maybe more).” So here I am with one, so far.

I’ve written about this a few times but under the ‘one subject exploration’ heading. It’s the same concept.

You’ll find those stories at the end of this one. One, funnily enough, is of this same location.

I don’t want to rehash the same information, although sometimes it’s good to remind ourselves of how and why we photograph as we do.

In October, a private photo tour client and I spent four days in Chicago. One of the topics that came up over and over was perspective. In a city setting, perspective can mean the difference between creating the same images you see over and over, and creating something unique and more in tune with who you are…
