Snow White’s Mirror and the Queen

Once upon a time a young queen sat herself in front of a mirror and gazed at her reflection in the glass. It soon became a habit, and every day the queen went to her mirror and asked it, ‘Mirror mirror on the wall, who is the fairest of them all?’ and every day it answered, ‘you oh queen are the fairest in all the land.’
One day the queen sat herself in front of her mirror as usual. She was the queen and she had a long day ahead of her with ceremonies and meetings and she may have been in a little bit of a hurry when she sat herself in front of her mirror and asked it, ‘mirror, mirror, on the wall who is the fairest of them all?’ When it answered, ‘you oh queen,’ she had to look again.
‘Yes there,’ said the queen absentmindedly, as she rubbed the glass, there was a scratch, and she turned around and called the sentry who was posted…
