I Don’t Feel at Home Anywhere
Even though it calls my name
I am (un)settled outside of my birthplace. I grew up here, work here, and my kids were born here, yet I am repeatedly reminded that I do not belong here in the UK. I am an immigrant, who came here for benefits and now steals jobs from “indigenous” people.
The funny thing is that I currently work in the Education sector and there has been a crisis in for years in the UK. So, come on people, roll up your sleeves and become a teacher! Let’s educate Britain and make it “Great” again. If teaching is not for you, look into the NHS. We shouldn’t let immigrants take care of our health while putting our national pride on its knees!
Throughout my time in the UK, I have encountered discrimination based on my gender, culture, looks, and religion, which is a hot topic in European politics ALWAYS! I have had to prove my worth by working harder than my counterparts. So, if you feel the urge to tell me, “If you don’t like it here, go back to where you came from,” I will have you know that I am NOT OK with mistreatment and will not be TOLD to go anywhere, thank you very much! Instead, I will demand better and won’t settle for subpar. I will challenge poor behaviour whenever and wherever I see it.
