Advice / Life Lesson
I Quit Banking: Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley and still make $100K-1m+ a year. Here’s How.
Funny enough, I spend way less now despite a better lifestyle and make a better net cash in!
The above picture is a synopsis of investment returns that my boutique India-focused hedge fund has made since I moved out of investment banking / private equity. Yes, could give any top global hedge fund a run for their money.
I Quit Investment Banking / private equity in my early 30s [read- fancy Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley London / EMEA] and still make $100K-1m+ a year!
Funny enough, I spend way less now despite a better lifestyle!
Yes, you heard that right. This isn’t a click-bait. I do make $ 6-figure a year [and much more in better years] despite not being a fancy investment banker or a private equity chap in a London / New York anymore or loitering around in posh Mayfair restaurants eating $200 steaks, wearing a bespoke Saville Row $2000 suit!
Here is a synopsis of who I am, what I do, where I have been and what I am doing right now.
Background:
Education: Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), HEC Paris School Management Grande Ecole (Masters in Management), Stanford University
Work-Experience: 2X start-up founder, ex-investment banker at Goldman Sachs Financial Institutions Group EMEA (London), Morgan Stanley Real Estate EMEA (London), and Advisor to Global Infrastructure Partners: the world’s largest Infrastructure Private Equity Group.
I run my hedge fund and family investment office now: Bimtek Capital,
At 34, I live a semi-retired life, spending 80%, if not more, of my time, sitting and reading all day, making sense of things around me and their implications in the investment world and in general.
