Dark. Optionally, with a touch of humor.
This is a new home for writers, many brand new to Medium. We are re-homing a pre-existing publication previously not on Medium, called “Dark Entries.” Many writers there will find a welcome home here.
For those writers already on Medium, we welcome you. What are we looking for?
The macabre. The futile. The haunted. The liminal. We are seeking speculative and horror-themed poetry and micro fiction, in the spirit of Poe and Lovecraft. With a focus on substance, atmosphere, narrative, and cinematics. Surreal, experimental, and mixed media pieces are more than welcome — encouraged, even — in addition to traditional form.
Science fiction pieces welcome.
NOT SEEKING: The editors quite enjoy our share of extremes, but please, don’t be edgy for the sake of being edgy.
Submissions should be tasteful. No slasher, no gore for the sake of grossing people out. Dark humor is appreciated.
We welcome your poetry, prose, and micro or flash fiction.
