It’s hard to beat one of the best well written, dark psychological drama/comedies on television. Dexter originally aired on Showtime, partly because of the content on this bloody, gory show.

I first heard about Dexter when my husband said something like this, “There’s a show you’ve got to watch. Dexter. It’s about a serial killer… but he’s the good guy.”

Wait, did I hear that right? The serial killer is the main character? And we are supposed to like him? It’s a movie, right?”

“No, it’s a series.”

I was astounded at the concept. They can’t actually carry on a series with someone being murdered by the main character. “It has to be a movie, or he has to get caught.”

“Each episode he goes after a serial killer. He is the good guy,” he insisted.

“We are supposed to like this main character who kills someone each episode? No way.” I was thinking this is some f***ed up society we live in. “That is breaking the rules of characterization. You can’t…
