Steven Spielberg — The Greatest Horror Director You’ve Never Considered

Steven Spielberg, aside from being one of the true greats in the history of cinema, is what I would call tonally sneaky.

He can make you laugh like in Indiana Jones.

He can make you question reality like in Minority Report or in Ready Player One.

He can make you wonder and feel whimsical like in E.T.: The Extra-Terrestrial.

But there is an emotion that he is more secretly brilliant at.

Steven Spielberg can terrify you.

And to prove this case, I’ve provided three moments that I always think of that I’ve seen since childhood and which still gives me chills as an adult to prove that Steven Spielberg is the greatest horror director you never considered.
