I Finally Got It
What is the attraction of fishing?
I never understood.
Sitting for hours at the water’s edge watching a float, well, mostly float.
Occasionally, reeling in, adding bait and casting again.
Rarely, catching a fish only to throw the tiddler back in again.
Even more rarely, catching a decent size fish, teasing it gently, letting it run, all the time bringing it under control. Finally, it’s in the net, measured up, hook removed and…
Released back into the wild.
Hours and hours, rain or shine. And for what?
But yesterday, I finally got it.
What is the Attraction?
I’ve been helping out at my daughter’s house for a week now. The kids have been ill, Kayleigh has been ill, I’ve been ill. It’s hard work at the best of times. At almost 61 (just a week away), I don’t have the energy for two toddlers under three that I did when my kids were growing up. But with all of us being ill during the week, it was way more stressful.
