An imagining of Anne Lamott from a description by SB to the AI NightCafe

Lately, I’ve been contemplating what it is that moves me to write. What do I need to see, hear or experience before I sit down to write? What do I need to witness? Can I just sit my bum down in my chair and write? Could I please? Why do the words escape my brain when I ask them to flow through these fingers? They don’t seem to have any trouble in my daily routine just floating and rumbling around in my brain. Why do they run the 1000 meter at Usain Bolt speeds as soon as I am no longer standing erect?

Then I come across something that a friend shares, like the Ann Lamott piece in the Washington Post this past weekend. You can read it here without a subscription:

In her writing about miracles, the miraculous happens. The words emerge on their own, effortlessly. They flow.

In our small communities, we find support, inspiration, and the miracle to find our voices. We find our muse in each others’ sharing. We find our own space for our own voice and words to flow by reading and listening to each others’ words.
