Hello, dear readers and happy Tuesday! I can’t believe I’m writing those words again. It’s been a hot minute since I wrote my last Coffee Time Tuesdays column. If you’re new here, this is a bi-weekly Tuesday column to check in on our reading, give hot takes on bookish trends and find new books, fresh-off-the-press.
This week’s hot take is that autumn is the best season for reading. Do you agree or disagree?
For my whole adult life so far, trying to read seasonally has been difficult. I get distracted easily or some genres associated with certain times of the year simply don’t resonate with me. But a pattern I’ve noticed is that, every September without fail, I get these cravings for a very particular reading menu.
I’m not very good at reading during the summer. So many other things take my attention, like holidays, more time with family and friends, work events, concerts and other outdoorsy activities. Reading just doesn’t fit around my schedule when the weather’s nice.
This is why, come September, I return to my cocoon of fresh, cinnamon-infused motivation to reassess my bookshelf and dig in. As I’m writing this, it’s a chilly…
