A Theory of Cosmology

--

By Alysyrose

I never want to seem “too sure” about something. I apologize for when that happens. I stated this with too much confidence, when it’s still purely theoretical.

Let’s say my personal favorite model when it comes to time (and everything else) is the Many-Worlds Interpretation of quantum mechanics, proposed by the physicist Hugh Everett III. The same idea occurred to Erwin Schrödinger. This view challenges the current consensual model of unidirectional time.

The many-worlds theory suggests that our universe is one of many parallel worlds that branch off from each other without intersecting or communicating. The theory is based on the idea that the universe is described by a wave function that contains all possible realities. As the wave function evolves, some superpositions break down, creating distinct realities. In the famous “Schrödinger’s cat” thought experiment, the cat is both alive and dead in different universes simultaneously until “measured.”

The MWI suggests that time is not a single linear progression, but rather a branching tree where every possible quantum outcome creates a new parallel universe, essentially meaning that every potential future exists simultaneously across multiple timelines, with each branch representing a different possible outcome of a quantum event; therefore, according to MWI…
