Who Will You Be Next Year?
Hurry, you’ve only got 10 days to craft the Ultimate Human™
We’re in the home stretch of 2024, and I can already smell the resolutions brewing.
If the thought of January 1st being around the corner has you brainstorming plans of losing weight, sticking to your workout plan, finally ditching toxic people, and quitting your soul-sucking job, you’re not alone.
I guess you could say I gave up on resolutions at some point. I’ve come to accept that I’m a Regular Human™ and that my growth will have to come from small, consistent efforts over time.
I’ve learned that change isn’t expedited for regular humans when action is taken on a specific date.
The regularity with which these cycles perpetuate the same harmful narratives has crept under my skin since unpacking the truth of the messaging.
I hate to sound like I’m shitting on the idea of self-improvement, it’s just that every January it feels like people are waving around a bunch of red-flags advertising all the ways they’ve felt Not Good Enough during the past year.
As someone who values growth, but doesn’t want to engage with these stereotypes, what is the answer?
