The One Lesson I Had to Learn Before Medium Success
Realizing This One Thing Led to Everything Good
I look back at the experiences I’ve had during my Writer’s Journey and realize how many ups and downs there have been. It’s funny how things change in relatively short amounts of time. I didn’t realize that I wanted to someday be one of the biggest bloggers in the world at the beginning of this Medium thing.
Initially, I was only writing here to build a portfolio of my work. I needed some newly written examples of my writing, to help secure a content writing job. So I wrote about 10 or 12 articles in January 2022, my first month as a writer.
It was fun. But compared to my current writing, those earliest pieces were rough. I wasn’t using Grammarly at first. My formatting was pretty much crap. I didn’t even meter my first five articles after I joined the Partner’s Program.
I wasn’t good at this yet.
The second month was worse. I only posted one article for the entire month. My new content writing gig was taking up all of my time. I was attempting to learn about their website and how to accept and complete paid writing jobs. Medium took a back seat to my content writing during my second month as a writer.
