How Impactful is Executive Dysfunction on Your Life?
First, let me offer a mea culpa. I fell into the trap again. I’ve spent 3 months chasing money and neglecting my blogging and my podcast. But, because of my self-diagnosis of Asperger’s Syndrome (Autism Spectrum Disorder, ASD), I need to be more aware of my issues with executive dysfunction. In my defense, every time I go down the “rabbit hole” of being laser-focused on making money, it doesn’t end well for me. I mistakenly thought that I was doing a better job dealing with my issues. I guess not so much…
Let’s talk about my Executive Dysfunction for a moment, shall we? My two biggest issues with Executive Dysfunction are:
* Focusing too much on just one thing.
* Difficulty motivating myself to start a task that seems difficult or uninteresting.
What is executive dysfunction? It’s a behavioral symptom that disrupts a person’s ability to manage their own thoughts, emotions, and actions. It’s most common in conditions such as ASD (among others). Source: my.clevelandclinic.org
I said that I want to educate people about autism. I also have quite a bit to say about everything that’s going on in the world today. If I’m being honest, I’m leaving money on the table. I simply must do a better job of time management but that goes back to executive dysfunction.
