Looking at the world stage, the United States is a very young country among its peers. There are pubs in Ireland that are hundreds of years older than the U.S.

Of all the political revolutions in history, the American Revolution was different. It was more of an insurrection against a monarchy, unlike the Fench or Russian Revolutions, where the angst came from within. The Iranian Revolution was to establish a specific religion. And the Chinese Revolution of 1948 was to institute communism. Like many other revolutions, farmers and the working class rose to the challenge of taking on the world’s biggest superpower at the time. Americans are so proud of that part of their history, but today, more than half try to make excuses for a president who refers to himself as….. King.

The Civil War came just four score and seven years (87) after the Declaration of Independence. The U.S. ended slavery during that war. It took England almost 300 years to abolish slavery. To be fair, slavery was prevalent in the American colonies for 200 years prior to emancipation.

Crime and corruption have been in the government and the White House for the longest time. The Grant administration had scandals. One of them was The Black Friday Gold Panic. The Treasury Department tried to corner the gold market with the help of Jay Gould and James Fisk — yesterdays equivalent of Elon Musk…
