The day after the ceremony, we learned that our manager received an award from the VP and CEO for lowering the company’s costs. Our manager asked us, the purchasing department employees, to negotiate better contracts, document the savings, and give him the results. Did he give us credit for that?

No, he took all the credit and the award, not mentioning our hard work once or bothering to thank us. Does this sound familiar? To anyone working in corporate America, probably.

Why do we keep putting up with this? Wallace D. Wattles, in his book , argues that our lack of thought and not realizing our power is the answer. There are millions more worker bees than C-suite people.

All we have to do is say no. But, we need to say no all together and stop working, all of us. That’s the hard part, as we’re not good at cooperating and don’t realize we have power.
