Welcome, me lovelies! It’s that lovely time of the month again — time for a new Monthly Theme! Growing up, August was always a month for resets and transitions. Summer was ending, back to school was just around the corner, and I was thrown back into the family dynamics after spending most of my Summer vacation away from them. I was always introspective, so it would take me a couple of weeks to reflect on my Summer away, being back home, and how the new school year would go. Those reflections often caused a lot of anxiety for me. I was rarely prepared for the chaotic scenes at home and school, even though I knew they would happen.

August is still a time for me to reset my life and work on transitions. Old habits are truly hard to break. However, there is less anxiety behind it now. As August rolls around, I begin assessing my previous year — what challenges I faced, how I handled them (or didn’t), what I could have done differently, what areas of my life I need to foster, and which ones I need to change, etc. And so this was my thought process when contemplating this month’s theme:
