My Word, Verse, & Song for 2024
After 3 years of ‘Peace,’ I’ve finally got a new word and song for the coming year

I’ve seen a lot of posts on choosing a word for 2024. For the past few years, my word has been PEACE.
In 2020, I learned that peace, joy, and love are the highest emotional states [1], with peace being the highest one we should all strive for.
It makes a lot of sense, as we make bad decisions when we are in fear, anxiety, or under stress, the opposite of peace. So, I spent the next few years seeking ways to find peace.
Fast forward to 2023, a trying year for our household. I was finally able to get and stay pregnant after multiple miscarriages. The pregnancy was a bit complicated, and I had to dig deep into scripture and prayer every day for any sense of peace.
We also had a couple of deaths in the family — women who were 100+ and pillars of the family. Add in a sibling with a history of addiction who dove deep into trouble, creating chaos all around him, and my stress level was at an all-time high.
I had to establish much-needed boundaries with family members, which was all new territory that was stressful and hard to navigate.
