I Have Been Invited to Use Gemini in Google Docs and Gmail

Use Gemini to help you create and understand documents

Yesterday, I received an email from Google with exciting news.

Some time ago, I registered with Google to be one of their beta testers. I guess this must be a result of that registration. These features might have become available to users in the US at an earlier date. Lately, it seems that Europe is behind in new developments.

Some initial testing

Of course, I wanted to know what I can do with this new option.

Things I could do with Gemini in Docs:

• Write new text: I just asked Gemini to write a blog post. Like in Gemini, I could give it specific instructions on what to write, such as the topic, style, and tone. The result is comparable to what can be done in Google Gemini itself.
• Rewrite existing text: I could select a piece of text in an existing document and ask Gemini to rewrite it. I tried a variety of options: summarizing, elaborating, shortening, and rephrasing. When I opened an existing document, it automatically…
