Analog Adventure
A free verse poem.
We’re independent
But harmonious.
The clock ticks
As we sit on its hands.
Short hour
Long minute
We cross each other on occasion.
Weaving wavelength
A.M. and P.M.
We gain our strength.
It’s no coincidence
It happens day by day.
Hours are years
Unless you alleviate your fears.
You’ll get another chance
As the twelfth hour’s near.
One
two
three
four
five
six.
Pick up tick marks
On the edge.
Seven
Eight
Nine.
The cat’s out of lives.
Ten
Eleven
Noon
Midnight.
Stretch your neck
To the skylight.
Find yourself
At the peak of time.
