People Are Weird
I know mothers from another culture are different but where do they learn their mothering skills?
You’ll remember the dinner at the alcohol-free home?
What I didn’t mention was they have two small children: one almost 3 and the other almost 2. Thirteen months apart, I think. The little girl’s bedroom is huge (the whole house is ginormous), and one-half of it is the kids’ play area. There were 6, maybe 8 toys, on the floor. And a dozen books on a little shelf in the corner.
I know Caelin has too many toys, but he now has a brother to share them with. He’s now reached an age where he can pull a drawer out and play independently for a half-hour or so. He has creative toys, Duplo, wooden blocks, magnetic squares and triangles of different sizes and configurations (the triangles), puzzles, jigsaws, you-name-it, he has it. And Tiernan has baby toys that once belonged to Keeley. They made toys to last back then. Obviously, I never got rid of any good quality toys.
