Where Does QAnon Fall in the Current MAGA In-fighting?
The story goes something like this. The world’s richest man, Elon Musk, jumps heavily into all Trump’s political doings now, in a visible way that is unprecedented for a donor. A thing I have been aware of for some time but never saw becoming powerful was a school of far right philosophy known as Dark Enlightenment. Those who scribe to Dark Enlightenment philosophy are known as neo-reactionaries. Easily something I could write an entire book on if I had the bandwidth to do so, or if someone offered me a substantial advance and guaranteed publication before I set pen to paper, but I will summarize to the extent such an entity can be summarized here- The Dark Enlightenment is an anti-democratic system of thought, the primary fathers of are a former Silicon Valley player and current blogger named Curtis Yarvin and a philosopher named Nick Land responding to and developing on Yarvin’s blogs. Our Vice President JD Vance has been tied to Dark Enlightenment explicitly, it is a world view Musk would seem sympathetic to. They have an odd preoccupation with the English Civil War- incidentally I am a descendent of Cromwell, to the extent that may bare any relevance here. They side with the crown on this one, being Monarchists, and Land seems to think that puritanism is the root of modern left leaning thought.
