AltLayer’s summer: July & August
This summer at AltLayer has been super busy, and they’ve achieved some great things. I want to share some of the exciting milestones and updates the AltLayer Team hit recently.
Launching the first AIoT rollup for GM Network
One of the biggest achievements was launching the first consumer AIoT rollup for . This happened after GM Network’s mainnet went live on . AltLayer used their MACH technology to make everything run faster and secure.
This technology helps smart devices work better and improves how data gets processed in decentralized networks.
Changing the vesting schedule
To keep the AltLayer ecosystem stable and strong in the long run, they made a . After the first unlock in July 2024, everyone agreed to pause the vesting for six months. This helps the team focus on long-term growth and stability.
Stateless rollup clients
There is a lot of rollups being used, and many are choosing different data layers instead of Ethereum. To adapt to this, AltLayer came up with a new . This makes rollups work faster and more securely by using their technology, helping both zk-rollups and optimistic rollups perform better.
Rollup day Brussels
One of the most exciting moments this summer was Rollup Day Brussels.
Over 1,000 people attended, and we had over 2,500 sign-ups!
AltLayer had some amazing speakers like and and at the event, they shared info about the progress on rollups and restaking and let audience learn from other leaders in the blockchain industry. .
Key technical updates
AltLayer’s Team made some big improvements to their technology:
- , meaning it can help two major rollups at once.
- They launched GM Network’s MACH AVS, making their system more .
- They introduced a new feature to check if operators are working properly.
Growing the ecosystem
AltLayer’s also expanded their ecosystem. Now, users on Arbitrum One can enjoy much faster transaction speeds and reduced time from 13 minutes to under 10 seconds! They also worked with to launch a new testnet, helping developers build faster and more efficient systems.
Additionally, they teamed up with and to improve security and give users better tools for exploring and securing their rollups.
September events
In September, AltLayer was a part of some great crypto events:
- Korea Blockchain Week in Seoul, where they spoke on a panel about how Bitcoin can help make rollups faster.
- Token 2049 in Singapore, where AltLayer’s Team talked about restaking and hosted several workshops with other blockchain developers.
It was a great opportunity to connect with experts and builders in the space.
What’s next?
It’s been an exciting summer, really. Launch of new products and improvements of AltLayer’s technology took some time, but it was worth it. Ofc there’s still a lot more to do, and I’m excited about the future of the project and everything they’re building.
Thanks for following along!
