Timothy Brehmer,41 from Hordle, New Forest, was working for the National Police Air Service at Bournemouth Airport. He was married to another officer of the same jurisdiction named Martha Brehmer and between them, they shared a child. To Martha, their marriage was that of a normal one. She didn’t suspect anything out of the ordinary, however, Timothy had been hiding something for quite some time; an affair that extended over more than ten years.

Timothy’s lover was Claire Parry, 41 from Bournemouth. She was a devoted NHS nurse and mother of two who was also married. Unlike Martha, Claire’s husband Andrew Parry (also a Dorset Police Officer) was aware of his wife’s extramarital activities. Not long after the affair was brought to light, both agreed to attend couple’s counselling sessions but this proved to be futile. It became apparent that the trust between them had gone — when Andrew inserted a mobile ‘bug’ into Claire’s car — it revealed she still proceeded to meet with Timothy.
