Don’t Worry, You’re Not Alone
You are as alone as you are accompanied.
We often think of loneliness as something that happens when we’re alone, but the truth is that we can feel lonely even when surrounded by people. In fact, sometimes we feel the most alone when we’re around others. So how can we gain perspective and focus on what would make us feel connected to people?
Have you ever felt alone in a room full of people? Like no one really gets you, and you can’t quite seem to find your place in the world?
Just because you feel alone doesn’t mean you are actually alone.
Apply Newton’s Laws of Motion
One way to gain perspective is to think about Newton’s laws of motion. These laws state that there are equal and opposite forces happening at the same time. So, in other words, you are as alone as you are accompanied; you just haven’t seen the other side.
If you take a moment to think about it, you’ll realize that there are areas in your life where you feel supported and included, and there are also areas where you feel lonely and disconnected. It’s important to remember that both sides exist simultaneously. It’s not an either/or situation.
