Some films don’t just leave you unsettled but carve a scar into your psyche. I’m not talking about stupid things like “Martyrs” or “Frontier(s).” I’m speaking of films that hit you in the soul, not only because of the violent scenes but also because of the hopelessness.

These tapes are not entertainment but a test. By the end, I was left with one absolute certainty: I can never watch these again. Not because they’re bad, but because they worked too well.
