Full Moon December 2024: A Personal Take on the December Supermoon and Its Mystical Wonders
When it comes to the last month of the year, one astronomical phenomena which has always intrigued me is the full moon. This December, however, something more special is lined up for us a Supermoon on December 15, 2024. As much as the December’s Cold moon is going to be cold in name, it’s gonna definitely hit the nail as the final full moon of the year. As I mentioned this is my bottle full moon so I’ll try to be as objective as possible and tell you why I believe this full moon is special, important, and interesting. The full moon occurring in December is referred to as the “Cold Moon” and for justifiable cause. It is the beginning of the long winter nights in the Northern Hemisphere of the earth. I love this moon because the air is cold, and there even can be snow; this moon is rather peaceful but at the same time is rather powerful. For me, the Cold Moon means introspection looking back at the year, and the general calm during the winter. According to the lunar calendar, the Cold Moon is on December 15, 2024; However, the moons visible for a few days before and after the date. And the best part? It’s going to be a Supermoon. This is one of that type in which the moon is on the nearest side of the earth making it to appear big and brighter in the sky. This I think is amazing, it is not very often you get to see the moon looking so great. What it call Supermoon? What do we need to know about it? A Supermoon is defined as a full moon at the same time when the moon is closer to earth than usual. So, it may look up to 14 percent larger inches and 30 percent brighter than the average full moon. In the past, I had an opportunity to experience Supermoons and trust me; it is drastically different when compared to this object. The moon is not real as it grows bright from the darkness of the night, radiating light on everything it touches. Not only does the Supermoon look amazing; it also impacts Earth’s tides. Since there are usually two tides every day due to moon’s attraction, high tides during a Supermoon are usually much higher than normal, and that I have learned is still thrilling to see if you reside by the sea. For the years of our relationship, I learned the true symbolic values that various cultures and people attach to the full moon. Thus, in my attitude to the Cold Moon, the main idea is identified with the inward reflection process. It’s a time when one begins to evaluate or review events of the year that has just ended and even begin to consider or think of the transformation that one would wish to makes in the following year. Cold Moon seems to be of importance in many Native American tribes, as it symbolizes the great spirit of endurance to keep up with the harsh conditions of winter. It is more of a time for fuel conservation, micro analysis on the performance of the year as well as analysis of the next year activities.

For best results, it is recommended to go somewhere where there is no much light coming from the vicinity. In fact, ever since I was young I’ve enjoyed going outside the lighted city area or in a countryside or an open ground to get the perfect view. And you can do it for the full moon using as equipment as a simple mobile phone. However if you do have binoculars or a telescope with you then by all means do take them into the hills as they’ll prove an added advantage. In fact, I always encourage people to use a telescope to see the moon because it reveals more aspects that you are unlikely to discern without it.

A number of individuals, me included, used to observe that there are ways in which the full moon affects our emotions or even our ability to sleep. I realize that during full moon night I used to think more about the things of my life and the decisions that I make. That is a little brighter than usual, illuminating the seemingly black sky and transforming everything around us into a magical environment. Whether I am up walking late at night or just gazing through the window, the full moon has always beautiful to behold to me. The full moon in December 2024 is going to be a breathtaking event. With its Supermoon status and symbolic significance, it offers an opportunity for reflection and growth. Whether you’re a seasoned stargazer or someone who enjoys a quiet night watching the moon, I highly recommend taking the time to experience this extraordinary sight.
