The All-Knowing Eye

It’s hard to remain ordinary
once you’ve seen with the all-knowing eye.
When the truth behind things is understood,
you can’t just carry on as if everything is fine.
The lesser don’t comprehend, they haven’t reached neutrality,
I didn’t realize I had either, until I became apathetic.

Imagine it as a golden ladder, that can or cannot be climbed.
It’s up for the taking and sometimes we are holding onto it without even realizing, as curiosity peaks.
But once the ascent has begun, shifting occurs.
Slow, seemingly unmoving.
Quick and painful, at times jarring.
Perhaps we never reach the top, except in death, so the task is never done.

As the climb continues and the eye sees clearer,
it’s impossible to stay the same as before.
Impossible?
Unfortunately, and terribly so.

Suppose carrying on anyways, hiding in your conventional clothes,
yet still standing alone in a crowded space.
The mind cannot be tricked.
The all-knowing eye has embedded into the bone that carries you,
stark white and with rigid density.

Acceptance is the only peace and even then, feels like defeat.
The lines in your skin turn into ravines, once carrying youthful streams.
Whether the work turns you to ashen dust or golden sands, the power seemingly lies within your calloused hands.
