The Simple, Cheap Way to Get Started

My need to start writing came from some desperation for income at the end of an awful year. The investment is nearly nothing, and money starts coming in pretty quick. Your most significant expenditure is some time and dedication. Our little guide can give you all the information, but you have to bring the will. It’s not even a considerable investment of willpower — a few months to six months, depending on your commitment level. Many people I’ve helped in just the last three months have declared themselves full-time writers in just a month, just like I did. It’s unexpected. The first weeks don’t pay as much as you want, and then it takes off. So here are the simple tools to getting started.

Equipment

Let’s start at the most basic level of writing. You need a computer and Internet access, and that’s it. A computer doesn’t need to be fancy to use a word processor, and your Internet connection doesn’t need to be gigabit fast to send emails or access writing work online. A decent desk is needed, and a comfortable office chair is highly recommended. A gel seat cushion on Amazon is $30 and worth it. Put on your favorite sweats, shower sometime today or tomorrow, and write.
