My Watch Stopped
And so did humanity.
My watch stopped.
But life around me kept pulsing.
Utter chaos.
A tale of torment unfolding without a script.
The sky split open with cries.
My family’s voices among them.
I reached out, trying to hold pieces of their shattered being.
But my hands were all smoke.
My voice, drowned in the stillness.
Into the uncanny stillness that follows a bloodshed.
Heavy horror in trembling hearts.
The world stood stunned —
For a moment.
For a moment. And that was it.
First came the media,
then came their agendas.
And of course the bloody politicians followed.
They came — vultures in silk ties and flashy promises.
And in no time, I was condensed into a number.
A trivialized statistic.
Reduced to a punchy headline to be used and molded at their whims.
A bargaining chip.
A bloody joke.
