How to Identify a Niche that pays your bills

Ever feel like you have too many interests and ideas, yet no idea where to focus? You are not alone. And that might actually be your superpower!

Finding a niche doesn’t mean limiting yourself. It means focusing your energy where it matters, on something you are good at, enjoy, and that the world needs.

So how do you go from scratching your head to cashing in?

1. Combine Passion with Expertise

Think about what you are genuinely passionate about. Something you would do for free.

Now, add a layer of what you are good at. This intersection of passion and skill is your potential goldmine.

For example, if you love photography but you are also great at explaining technical concepts, why not combine them into a niche like “teaching beginners how to take professional-quality photos with a smartphone”?

Actionable:

  • Make a list of 5–10 things you love and are good at.
  • Then, explore how they could overlap to create a unique angle.

Greater the number of things you combine, greater the odds of success.

2. Identify What the World Needs
