What If Prince Charming Isn’t A Prince At All?
I know what Barbie said and don’t get me started on Cinderella and her glass slipper.
Should we even be delving into how far they reached just to make the princes notice them?
How these women had to put themselves on display just to be chosen? Rah.
But what if he is just the considerate one?
The one who remembers every “ick,” shows up for every twist and turn really shows up.
The one where, in a dark tunnel, all you need is his number because you know, without a doubt, a thousand detectives couldn’t find you faster than he would.
The one who lets you be the boss to the world,
but when you walk through the door, that armor can stay at the threshold because you don’t need it with him.
The one you never have to worry about.
If he said he was going to Target but someone spotted him at Chipotle,
you wouldn’t panic because the moment he walks in,
you’ll hear why and smell it too.No weirdos. No second-guessing.
What if he’s the one who’s vulnerable enough to admit the defenses that cause your reactions and actually does the work to fix them?
Maybe it’s the little things, like how you don’t even remember
the last time you woke up with anything less than a full battery because he noticed.
It’s possible that he is the healthy one. The one who brings the light back to your eyes, has you lingering longer in the pink section of every store not because you’re trying to impress, but because you feel cute, soft, and safe enough to enjoy it.
Where you can completely express yourself. Where you can safely exist. No games. No manipulation.
What if he’s the one who has you levitating, who dishes out compliments at every turn, so often that you forget what your insecurities even were?
Maybe he takes you out of the ordinary because these days, this kind of love isn’t ordinary anymore. Glad they still make em like this.
