Elliot Arnold: A Brief Biography
Throughout Elliot Arnold’s prolific writing career, he wrote dozens of novels, and screenplays. He had been a feature writer for the ‘New York World-Telegram’.
Elliot Arnold was born on September 13, 1912, in Brooklyn, New York. His parents were Jack and Gertrude Frank Arnold. Elliot went to CCNY, and NYU. While in college, Elliot started his reporter career, as he began working for the ‘Brooklyn Times’.
Elliot was an eager young writer, who was determined to get his work published. He had begun working on his first novel (titled ‘Two Loves’), which was published in 1934. During this time, he had begun working at the ‘New York World-Telegram’. His job allowed him the freedom and financial security to pursue his writing career on the side, and he had a multitude of novels published.
Aside from his writing career, Elliot Arnold was also a United States Air Force captain. Elliot enlisted in the army after the attack on Pearl Harbor, and he ended up in the Army Air Corps. Elliot had a four-year career in the military, and upon his discharge, he was given the rank of captain (as well as the Bronze Star Medal).
Elliot Arnold’s best-known work, was his 1947 novel, titled ‘Blood Brother’. It had been made into a 1950 film, which was titled ‘Broken Arrow’. The movie starred James Stewart, Jeff Chandler, and Debra Paget…
