Reading on Medium Can Have Horrible Consequences
Constantly scrolling is not the best strategy.

Like me, you probably read a lot on Medium.
And that’s great, except when it’s not.
Reading can be a distraction
Reading gives us knowledge. Except, sometimes reading can be something we do when we don’t know our next move. If you’ve ever found yourself scrolling through Medium, clicking on every article, chances are you don’t know what your next step is.
Trust me, I’ve been there. Whenever I have a problem that needs fixing, I bring up every article on the topic and read it all. Then I go read more. And then some more. I realized, after an embarrassingly long while, that all I’m looking for is a distraction. Something that keeps my mind occupied while the problem exists, so I don’t need to focus on it.
Reading became a way to feel productive when it was really just a distraction.
