Blood Oath: The Alpha’s Prisoner
Chapter Three: The Mark
The cold stone beneath her bones served as a harsh reminder that she was no longer Elara’s own when she woke up before morning. When she looked down, her flesh was intact, save for the sign that had not been there before, even though the slight pain on her wrist throbbed like a new wound.
A red mark of blood. Jagged. old. alive. Her fist tightened.
“How did he harm me?”
A tray moved into the room as the door cracked open. Bread. Water. along with a folded piece of fabric.
Although Kael never showed there, his presence permeated the space like an impending storm.

“The blood bond is done” were written in a thick, methodical style. You’re not broken; you’re bound. Acquire knowledge or be lost.”
Her heartbeat quickened. Bounded? To him?
The Blood Oath, an evil pact older than the packs themselves, was something she had only vaguely heard of. It was irreparable. It was impossible to reject.
Elara touched the spot with her hand. “Alpha, you’ll regret this.”
And the wind howled as if it were laughing from deep within the stone walls.
