We Are Complicit: Gaza Is Not a Conflict — It’s a Genocide
Silence, even passive, is not neutral.
Gaza is not just a conflict zone; it is a graveyard where entire generations are being erased. Since October 7, 2023, more than 42,000 Palestinians have been killed, including over 16,000 children. Whole families' grandparents, parents, children have been wiped out in single strikes, severing histories and stealing childhoods before they even began.
For over 15 months, Gaza has suffered relentless bombardment. The scale of destruction is staggering over 900 families annihilated, hospitals and schools bombed, doctors and healthcare workers killed and nearly two million people forcibly displaced.
The healthcare system here hasn’t just collapsed; it’s been systematically dismantled. According to the World Health Organization, as of May 2025, only 19 out of Gaza’s 36 hospitals are partially functioning, with just 12 able to provide a range of essential services. Over 90% of medical facilities have been damaged or destroyed.
Fuel shortages have made things even worse. Hospitals are relying on backup generators that are running dangerously low on fuel.
