Beautiful Mistake.
I am the girl who lit up the room,
Full of joy—until he arrived.
I loved a man who promised to love me too, Perhaps I was just a chapter in his story,
But he was my beautiful mistake.
Even at the edge of letting go,
My stomach fluttered when I saw him.
That uncontrollable smile, Oh God !
The kind of love that longed to be seen but never was.
I wished him gone, not to lose him,
But so he would never choose to leave.
If fate had taken him, I could have found peace.
We dreamt of journeys, of endless memories,
Yet those dreams remain mine alone.
I struggle to explain myself to him,
Choking on words that never reach his heart.
I wanted him to make me happy,
Yet, I loved him more than I loved myself.
I know I must end it—I need to.
At least one of us should find happiness.
Still, I wait for a walk that will never come,
A dream that will never happen.
