Many find it’s better with a cat or a dog

Is the slow
And sometimes fast
Process
By which innocence
Flakes away
Leaving a residue
That slowly
And sometimes quickly
Struggles to remember names
But sometimes dodders into
A second grace
Where what memories
Remain
Are lightly scrubbed
With sunshine
