Why Don’t People Show Who They Truly Are?

Life is a strange game. Everyone claims, “I’m different,” but deep down, they’re terrified of being different. Each person wears a mask, carefully crafting a perfect image to show the world. But the real question is, why?

Is it because they crave acceptance? Or because they’re running away from themselves?

Most people say, “I have a clean heart.” But have you ever noticed? Even the so-called “clean-hearted” people are scared of exposing their truths. Maybe it’s because truth comes with a price, and masks? Masks are free—and convenient.

But in this constant act of hiding, the real self gets lost.

How Many Times Have You Worn a Mask?

I won’t lie—I’ve done it too. We all have. At some point, everyone feels the need to prove themselves, and under that pressure, the raw, unfiltered self becomes a carefully edited version. Society doesn’t make it any easier. It’s like a marketplace where everyone is selling expectations:

  • “You’re good, but you need to be perfect.”
  • “You’re kind, but first, you need to be accommodating.”

And so, you keep playing this game of perfection. But one day, you’ll realize the most painful truth: in the race to be…
