Why Do We Want To Avoid Trying?
Is it because we’re lazy, or is there actually some other reason behind it?
Everyone talks about trying. “Just give it a try at least!” And yeah, it’s easy to say, but why is it so hard to actually do? I mean, it’s not like we have to win every time, right?
If you’re thinking it’s because we’re lazy, then sorry mate, you’re wrong.
Yeah, we might procrastinate or put things off now and then, but there’s a reason behind it. A real one. The main culprit? Uncertainty.
Lack of knowledge, the fear of the unknown, and having no one to guide us through (properly, not just on the surface) are often what hold us back.
I like reading books.
A lot.
But buying every book I want to read? That’s impossible for me right now. I’d probably have to take out a loan just to afford them all.
So I borrow from friends, download PDFs, anything to keep reading.
You’ll notice I didn’t even mention going to the library, even though I literally have access to one of the biggest libraries in my city.
Why?
Because I dread going there.
