Why Blogging is Dying

I still get a thrill in my heart when I recall that click on my first blog in 2022—my daydream of a rainy afternoon turned into a handwritten letter to strangers. Now, in two thousand and twenty-five, blogs seem like artifacts buried under the rubble of SEO rituals, algorithmic atrocities, and the sirenic allure of instant results. A long time ago, a meaningful conversation now rivals a million others—even millions of voices, all shouting for two seconds of attention.

I was the author of my peers who valued the gravity of each word and were not aware of the faceless metrics' existence. At some point on the continuum, the algorithms started changing the rules.

The clickbait and salaciousness shot up to the top, while the rumination went nowhere. Suddenly, promoting a blog post was all about increasing my financial literacy, and thus true sharing transformed into a cold science of promotion.

My bike rides and stargazing at midnight thoughts suddenly turned to sponsored posts and affiliate links. What writing was important to writing that sold became, and with it went the enjoyment.

The entire rush with which I posted became too much to be enthusiastic about and less raw performance, suffocating life from my creative urge.
