The Worst Thing You Can Do To Yourself
Small Mistake but a BIG lesson for life
Last Sunday, I went to play cricket with a team of people who were complete strangers to me.
It was all thanks to the owner (friend) of the gym I used to go seven years back.
I joined his gym in my vicinity back then when I used to live in my hometown, and we’ve shared a good bond ever since.
I am home this time to enjoy Diwali and other festivals with my family so I joined his gym back for a month.
He invited me to join a cricket match, telling one of the team players, Rohit,
“Pritesh will come to play tomorrow; let him bat and bowl — he’s a good player.”
I went there, excited, and found out that my friend couldn’t make it because he was down with a fever.
It’s been about 5–6 years since I last played cricket regularly.
Living away from my hometown, I just didn’t get the chance.
But I missed those days — especially the ones when, on every birthday, I’d buy a new bat and gather all my colony friends for a game.
I’ve always been an average player, both with the bat and ball, but like every other kid in India, I used to dream of playing professionally.
