Struggling to Find The Perfect Words For Your Writing?

Perfectionism is a killer of creativity.

When I started writing, it took hours to finish an article because I was obsessed with using the ‘perfect’ word.

The longer I waited for that magic word, the slower I wrote the following sentences.

Until this happened…

I needed a breakthrough to release me from the shackles of sluggish writing.

And here’s the technique I adopted: Letting go and writing freely first.

Even if I struggled to write the exact word I thought was in my head, I didn’t panic.

That technique is called the “Placeholder Method.”

How does it work?

You’re using brackets to maintain your flow state.

Instead of wasting time for the perfect word or sentence to fall like manna, write [a better word here] or [google the correct use of XYZ] and continue.

What’s the beauty of using this technique?

It helps you to mentally process whatever you forget while working on the rest of your blog, articles, memoirs, etc.

Once you're finished, you can come back and refine. Interestingly, recollection is easier.

When I'm writing an article, I don't add subtitles immediately. I insert a bracket, write whatever I feel, and a fitting subtitle appears like a thief in the night.

But I would’ve been stuck if I wasted time thinking about a subtitle for what I hadn’t written.

This method works, you should try it.

If you struggle to find the right word, use a placeholder and move on. It saves time.

You don't need to freeze while fantasizing over little details.

Using a placeholder keeps you going.

Happy writing!
