What I wish someone told me when I started freelancing
If you are just starting out as a freelancer and don’t have any clients, it feels like you are shouting at no one. After finishing your profile, adding your bio and maybe posting a gig, there is no response..
There were no communication, no deals and no financial transactions. It can be very difficult in the early days.
Yet, this is the way most individuals usually start learning code. How you respond is what makes the biggest difference.
The first thing to do is not to expect someone else to discover your skills. Visit places where you might find customers and introduce yourself to them.
You can do this by sending cold emails, checking job boards and posting your accomplishments on LinkedIn or X. Social Media presence helps a lot, I can tell you that.
Perfection is not necessary in writing. You’ll find them reliable, helpful and all set to assist.
If you work as a writer, designer or virtual assistant, focus on a particular group of clients and meet their needs.
