Permission to Write Badly

When I started writing on this platform 9 months ago, I had no idea what I was doing.

I had millions of thoughts in my mind bouncing like popcorn — loud, chaotic, and going in every direction. But when the time comes to write? I froze.

Like a full-on full stop freeze.

I felt like the words didn't want to come out. I knew what I was feeling and what I wanted to write, but I had no idea how to express it in words. Everything came out messy and forced.

Still… I started.

I wrote.

And I wrote very, very badly.

No exaggeration — my first story was a total mess. It had no flow, no structure, no point, no idea what I was even trying to say, and was filled with enough grammatical errors to give an English teacher a nightmare. When I read it now, it feels like I am watching a kid who is trying to explain quantum physics — passionate but confusing.

But I posted it anyway.

And that mess was necessary, and that’s where everything changed.

Because if I hadn’t started writing badly, I wouldn’t have improved at all.

I am just a girl, lost in the world and emotionally hydrated by sad music, overthinking, and occasional sarcasm.
