No, I Won’t Feed My Baby That
Instincts over opinions
As a first-time mom, I quickly realized that advice comes from everywhere.
During pregnancy, especially when my baby bump became noticeable, it felt like everyone had something to say — what to wear, how to set a sleep schedule, what to feed the baby.
Every Baby Is Different
One of the first lessons I learned was that no two babies are the same.
What works for one might not work for another, and I was lucky to understand that early on.
Still, as time went on, I found myself growing tired and frustrated.
People assumed I needed their advice — especially moms with multiple kids — just because something had worked for them.
“My baby gained weight when I fed her this and that,” a friend told me, insisting I try the same.
“We eat this or that, and it works wonders!” another mom said.
I appreciated their good intentions, but the constant suggestions became overwhelming.
I started second-guessing myself. Should I try this? Should I trust my instincts instead?
The pressure to “get it right” only grew as I navigated motherhood.
