I Burned Out Quietly — And No One Noticed

--

I was the tough one.

The capable one.
The “you’ve got it all together” type.
But secretly, I was running on empty.

I smiled when I was exhausted.

I assisted when I was in pain.
I said “I’m fine” when I was disintegrating.

The Day My Body Said “Enough”

It wasn’t dramatic.

No breakdown. No panic attack.
Just nothing.

I sat at my desk one morning, opened up my laptop…

And gazed.
For two hours.

Nothing stirred. Not my fingers. Not my mind.
I had run into a wall. A silent, invisible one.

That’s what burnout looks like when you hide it well.

I Didn’t Know Who I Was Without The Hustle

Rest was guilt.

Saying “no” was betrayal.
Pausing was failure.
But what shattered me wasn’t work — it was the pressure to be perfect.

I believed my value was tied to productivity.
